At the Geneva Motor Show, Apple introduced the automobile system CarPlay, formerly known as iOS in the Car. Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo showcased their first cars to support the new system.
Journalists AppleToolbox talked with officials of Volvo and Ferrari and found that the auto giants are unlikely to set up now CarPlay on previously released cars. Produce a similar procedure, according to them is difficult and therefore the new system from Apple is only available for vehicles from the new lineup.
But despite this, Ferrari announced that they understand the importance of new multimedia systems and are already working on the creation of a certain analog CarPlay, intended to have on the market models. The system supposedly is compatible with most modern mobile devices.
Volvo representatives do not deny that support CarPlay can get and previously released cars.
"We are not yet ready to talk about the plans related to the installation of aftermarket CarPlay and disclose information about future products.
