Over the past five years in the integrated graphics processors from Intel has come a long way. Today, maximum configuration video core GT3 class composed generation Haswell processors has 40 execution units. In processors Broadwell expected increase in EU (execution units) 20% up to 24 in GT2 and to 48 in GT3. Processors Skylake, is expected to increase the number of execution units by 50% up to 72 pieces in the composition class schedules GT4. The quad version 14-nm processor module Skylake GT4 on board will meet the thermal envelope of 95 watts.
At the core graphics processor cores Skylake will lie graphics architecture ninth generation - Generation 9 Low Power. As in the case of decisions generations Haswell and Broadwell series models get a shared cache memory capacity of 128 MB on the basis of separate crystal eDRAM. Besides ot promise to support latest Intel technology under the name of Shared Virtual Memory, which could mean a shared access to system memory by the computing and graphics cores.
Additionally, Intel will expand the number of supported hardware encoding for video and blocks to work with static graphics. While the list is as follows: JPEG, JMPEG, MPEG2, VC1, WMV9, AVC, H264, VP8 and HEVC/H265. Maybe this list will be added the video format VP9.
