Â
Today we will check different integrated graphic chipset gaming performance.
We used the following component in our tests :
- Processor: Intel core 2 Duo e4400 (LGA775, 2.00GHz, 800MHz FSB, 2MB L2).
- Motherboards:
- LGA775 Asus P5L-MX (GMA 950);
- LGA775 GiGabyte – 965GM – S2 (GMA x3000);
- AM2 GiGabyte  – M61P – S3 (GeForce 6100);
- AM2 GiGabyte – MA69G-S3H (Radeon x1250).
- Intel DG31PR (GMA 3100).
- Memory: 2x512 kingmax PC-8500, @ DDR 2-800MHz 5-5-5-15;
- Operating system: Microsoft Windows XP Â pro (SP2).
In motherboards with AM2 socket we used the processor athlon 64 X2 4000+.
Synthetic tests:
3DMark03 v3.6.0 – 1024x768, NoAA/noAF; 3DMark05 v1.2.0 – 1024x768, NoAA/noAF.
PCMark05_v1.0.1 - graphic test.
Performance test v6.1 – 2d graphs.
Games selection was pretty hard since not all today integrated graphic core work with the newest games. For this reason we selected only three games:
Condemned; NFS most wanted; Quake 4.
We tested in both regime  800x600 and with 1024x768. Default Quality .
We also checked the video decoding capability.
In the test 3DMark03 Intel GMA 3100 take the lead. But we observe an opposite picture in 3DMark05,  the leaders here is Radeon x1250. The second place is occupied by GMA x3000,.
Now let us check the performance in real game :
In condemned , previous generation graphic core - GMA x3000 is the fastest. GMA 3100 take the second place .
In the racing simulator NFS: MW, first graphic core was Intel  g945. We note that the picture quality is far from being perfect. The most qualitative image was demonstrated by : GMA 3100 and Radeon 1250.
Now let us check the 2d regime performance. We used the test utility performance test V6.1.
The fastest graphic core is here GeForce 6100. In the second place we have the Radeon x1250.
In all graphic tests the graphic core Intel GMA 3100 stably hold the average category.
let us pass to video decoding.
According to the results above Intel company engineers has some work to do. Intel graphic core have higher load . With Gma 3100 the CPU load reach 14% witch pretty high considering that Radeon X1250 use only 1% CPU . Related Products :
