The new line of processors for enthusiasts - Haswell-E - the number of cores in the entry-level Core i7-5820K increase from four to six pieces, which, of course, is good news for those who are not willing to pay extra for a relatively large sum of an extra pair of core. As can be understood from the manual for Gigabyte Motherboard chipset-based X99, which can be found on the forum TechPowerUp, in fact, Intel has decided to "deprive" Core i7-5820K not from core but from available lines of PCI Express 3.0.
The manual states that the processors Core i7-5930K and Core i7-5960X able to provide work three PCI Express x16 slots in the "16 + 16 + 8 lines", while for Core i7-5820K inherent limitation of "16 + 8 + 4 lines. " Thus, confirmed earlier rumors that the root complex PCI Express Processor Core i7-5820K only supports 28 lines, while older brothers support up to 40 lines.
Obviously, Intel specifically limits the junior model Haswell-E to prevent internal competition between Core i7-5930K and Core i7-5820K.
