The well-known electronics manufacturer Panasonic has announced a new compact lithium-ion battery, which at times is less than standard batteries AAA . It is designed for portable electronic devices, which can not yet boast a long battery life.
According to ComputerWorld, the new battery is in the form of a cylindrical rod (pin), length of 20 mm and a diameter of 3.5 mm, which is twenty times smaller batteries AAA. According to Panasonic, this is the smallest battery in the industry in terms of value and capacity volume.
Battery, called CG-320 has a rated capacity of 13 mAh at a voltage of 3.75 V. This is sufficient for connectivity with smartphones via Bluetooth and NFC. Its compact size and light weight make it ideal for wearable devices such as smart glasses, fitness bracelets and hearing aids. According to Panasonic, the use of CG-320 battery will reduce the size and weight of the wearable electronics. Its mass production will start in February 2015 and the company plans to ship a month to 100 000 copies.
Now Panasonic is developing two more battery capacity of 30 mAh and 50 mAh. They are a bit larger and heavier than the CG-320. Related Products :
