Toshiba has announced that it will demonstrate at this week's CEATEC exhibition in 2014 a new generation of humanoid robot that can play pre-entry using the Japanese sign language. Movement of fingers and hands in this case are synchronized with the articulation of the lips.

Toshiba believes that humanoid robots will be used in the field of health care, personal services, manufacturing, agriculture, and even entertainment. The very next year the company will introduce a modification of the robot, which will meet the visitors of the exhibitions. By 2020, Toshiba expects to release a robot able to understand and synthesize speech, perform basic household operations and manipulations on care for the elderly citizens. In a country with high average life expectancy these assistants are highly in demand.
