We already published the performance result of Athlon 64 (3.2 GHz) in comparison with Phenom processor frequency at 2.0 GHz . Now we have 5 other processors . here is the list of participants:
- Phenom-> 4x512 KB second-level cache, 2 MB third-level cache, frequency 15 x 200 MHz DDR2-750 with 5-5-7-18-2T, Bus frequency equals to 3200 MHz HT;
- Core 2 Extreme QX6850-> 2x4 MB second-level cache, frequency 9 x 333 MHz DDR2-800 with 5-5-5-18-2T, FSB frequency equal to 1333 MHz;
- Core 2 Extreme QX9650-> 2x6 MB second-level cache, frequency 9 x 333 MHz DDR2-800 with 5-5-5-18-2T, FSB frequency equal to 1333 MHz;
- Core 2 Duo E6850-> 4 MB second-level cache, frequency 9 x 333 MHz DDR2-800 with 5-5-5-18-2T, FSB frequency equal to 1333 MHz;
- Athlon 64 FX-62-> 2x1 MB second-level cache, frequency 15 x 200 MHz DDR2-750 with 5-5-5-18-2T, Bus frequency equals to 2000 MHz HT;
- Athlon 64 X2 5000 +-> 2x512 KB second-level cache, frequency 15 x 200 MHz DDR2-750 with 5-5-5-18-2T, HT frequency equals to 2000 MHz.
Intel processor are used with chipset Intel P35, AMD processors are coupled with chipset AMD 790FX. The single GeForce 8800 GTX graphics card worked under with ForceWare 169.02 drivers and Windows XP SP2. Test results in 3DMark'06 are :
The following table show the Phenom processor performance at 3.0 GHz frequency .
In general account Phenom loses over Yorkfield by 6.5%, but the problem is the default frequency , Phenom will have time to reach the 3.0 GHz but here Core 2 Extreme QX9770 (3.2 GHz) will be released in the next year, in addition to the fairly good overclock capability up to 4.0 GHz with air cooling and free multiplier. With the limited first default frequency , Phenom processors may be weaker than some predecessors and rivals with two core and higher frequencies . Related Products :
