Marvell Company issued a press release, dedicated to the production of its two new microcontrollers - 88NV1140 and 88NV1120.
Both of them are focused on the use of solid-state storage in compact form factor M.2 2230, for which Marvell introduced the ability of their operation without installing the PCB chip buffer memory DRAM - controllers integrated SRAM.
Marvell 88NV1140 connected interface PCI-Express 3.0 (one line) and can use protocols and AHCI NVMe 1.1b, and the younger SATA3 Marvell 88NV1120 costs with appropriate AHCI. The rest of the specs are identical:
- architecture based on dual-core processor architecture Cortex R5;
- CMOS 28 nm process technology;
- proprietary technology NAND-memory management and error correction Marvell NANDEdge LDPC;
- Support TLC NAND and 3D NAND-memory interfaces Toggle 2 / ONFI 3 made process technology class 15-16 nm;
- Support power saving mode DevSleep L1.2.
It is also possible to create integrated SSD, in which crystals flash memory and controller are packaged in a common case BGA MCP.
