In 2010, the standard was born MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link), combining the functionality of HDMI and micro-USB. MHL is used to connect mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets to TVs and monitors, with standard allows not only video transmission, and power.
This week MHL Consortium presented the next update of the standard - superMHL, suggesting a rather serious changes. First of all, double the capacity of a single line interface that allows to transfer 60 fps video with a resolution of 4K per second, and, interestingly, it does not need new cables and connectors. Meanwhile, with the use of cables and connectors superMHL, including 6 interface lines, it will be possible to transfer huge amounts of data - up to 120 fps with a resolution of 7680 x
4320 per second.
The maximum power that can be transmitted by cable superMHL, rose to 40 W (20 V @ 2 A).
