Intel is forming a new alliance. Its main goal - setting the standard among the stylus to create a universal input device for a variety of electronic devices - from smartphones to tablets and laptops. It is reported by the Taiwanese publication DigiTimes, citing its own sources in the industry.
According to sources, Intel will describe for the first time about its new alliance and its participants in February this year. And the first product created by the Alliance, will be available in the third quarter.
Sources say that the introduction of a single standard will allow users to use the same stylus for different products. They believe that by doing so Intel is seeking to strengthen its position in the segment of 12-inch-making 2-in-1.
It is not known exactly who has entered into a new alliance formed by Intel. But, according to some reports, were invited Atmel , Synaptics and Elan Microelectronics company, as well as a manufacturer of styluses Waltop.
DigiTimes journalists asked for comments to the official Intel representatives , but they only said that discussions with partners specification, refusing to provide any additional information.
