We already talked about the passively cooled graphics card GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB, and concluded that this is not easy to quietly cool the video chip since its temperature will exceeds the 100 degrees Celsius. However, this does not prevent manufacturer to produce graphics card with the passive cooling.

So The appearance of passive cooling systems for the Radeon HD 3850 is even more predictably than in the case of the GeForce 8800 GT. One of the first proposals appeared from Sapphire company.

The size of the main radiator, video cooling , inspire hope for its high efficiency. The radiator location can cause problems when installing video cards in some motherboards.
This Radeon HD 3850 from Sapphire has 512 MB GDDR-3 memory , and operates at 670/1660 MHz frequencies. It is possible to assume that such massive radiator left some overclock reserve using additional fans. Sapphire is considering to equip this graphics card with a fans as options.
