It is clear that AMD will be able to offer dual-core processors generation Phenom only at the end of the second quarter 2008. Segment of more affordable dual-core processors will be filled with K8 architecture model . AMD already stopped the production of 90nm processor in the middle of this year, all new models should be based on 65 nm core.
According to the updated AMD road map there are new information. For example, we are already familiar with dual core 65 nm processor Athlon 64 X2 5600 +(2.9 GHz) with 2 x 512 KB second cache level witch received a lower TDP value: only 65 W instead of the expected 89 Watts. Furthermore, its announcement was reported from the current quarter to the next.
In the first quarter 2008 , AMD will remove the processors Athlon 64 X2 6000 + (3.0 GHz) and Athlon 64 X2 6400 + (3.2 GHz), for which there is not 65 nm replacement.
Here is the list of dual-core processor Athlon X2 BE-2xxx with TDP level no more than 45 W :
- Athlon 4850e-> 2.5 GHz, 2 x 512 KB cache, TDP = 45 W;
- Athlon 4450e-> 2.3 GHz, 2 x 512 KB cache, TDP = 45 W;
- Athlon 4050e-> 2.1 GHz, 2 x 512 KB cache, TDP = 45 Watts.
The last two processor will replace the existing Athlon X2 BE-2400 (2.3 GHz) and Athlon X2 BE-2350 (2.1 GHz).
