IN Japan we could already order the retail 45 nm processors Core 2 duo and dual core Celeron E1200 (1.6 GHz).
Here is the box Wolfdale processors .
The existing Wolfdale models have 6 mb cache in the second level divided between the two core.
Dual core Celeron E1200 is released using 65 nm technology.
Let us examine the new Intel processors :
- Core 2 duo E8500 (3.16 GHz, 6 mb cache, 1333 MHz bus, 45 nm) - > SLAPK;
- Core 2 duo E8400 (3.0 GHz, 6 mb cache, 1333 MHz bus, 45 nm) - > SLAPL;
- Core 2 duo E8200 (2.66 GHz, 6 mb cache, 1333 MHz bus, 45 nm) - > SLAPP;
- Celeron E1200 (1.6 GHz, 512 KB cache, 800 MHz bus, 65 nm) - > SLAQW.
The first three processors are based on C0 stepping Wolfdale core, the last one is based on M0 stepping Allendale core. They all have a TDP level not more than 65 W.
Here it is possible to check the box processor Wolfdale (on the right photo ).
The Prices of those processors in Japan are :
- Core 2 duo E8500 (3.16 GHz, 6 mb cache, 1333 MHz bus, 45 nm) - > $307;
- Core 2 duo E8400 (3.0 GHz, 6 mb cache, 1333 MHz bus, 45 nm) - > $217;
- Core 2 duo E8200 (2.66 GHz, 6 mb cache, 1333 MHz bus, 45 nm) - > $194;
- Celeron E1200 (1.6 GHz, 512 KB cache, 800 MHz bus, 65 nm) - > $55.
The official prices reduction for the 45 nm processors Core 2 duo is planned in the third quarter of the present year.
