According to analysts Thomson Reuters Patent Search Service and the World Intellectual Property Service, Samsung company is the leader in the number of patents relating to wearable devices.
Between 2003 and 2014, the Korean company has received the largest number of patents. Second and third place is occupied by Philips and Panasonic, respectively. A total of 64,502 patent issued for a specified period.
Samsung filed for the period more than 600 patents related to wearable electronics, while others leaders - Philips, Panasonic, LG and Canon - was approximately 400 patents. Sony has taken the 8th place, and Microsoft and Qualcomm - 19 and 20 respectively. Most patients, 27.6 percent turned out to be owned by Japanese companies, in second place is the United States with 22.5 percent, and the third - China with 22.4 percent.
