Gigabyte has announced two lines of motherboards X170 and X150 workstation, based on chipset Intel C236 and C232, respectively. New motherboard supports new processors Intel Xeon E3-1200 v5 (Skylake) in LGA 1151 and DDR4 memory with ECC, as well as with the sixth-generation processors Intel Core, Pentium and Celeron. There was also presented a new motherboard chipset Intel Z170.
Motherboard GA-X170-Gaming 7 WS and GA-X170-Extreme ECC belong to the upper price segment. These boards are virtually indistinguishable from each other except that the model Extreme ECC, as the name implies, supports DDR4 memory with ECC, and Gaming 7 WS - no.
While there is no exact data about the characteristics of all motherboard, but on the GA-X170-Gaming 7 WS and GA-X170-Extreme ECC know quite a lot. They both have three ports SATA Express, M.2 two slots and two slots SATA III. They also receive audio system based Creative SoundCore 3D, and two network adapters, one Intel, the other Killer E2400.
