DATE:2016-01-31
Recently, AMD, together with computer maker Falcon Northwest at the event dedicated to the VRLA technology of virtual reality have shown prototype system with a graphics card Radeon R9 Fury X2 based on two graphic processors Fiji. In addition, as part of VRLA, vice president, AMD Roy Taylor revealed one very important detail about this video card.
Taylor argues that the performance of Radeon R9 Fury X2 is 12 teraflops in operations with single precision. For comparison, the figure in the previous AMD cards with two video processors, Radeon R9 295 X2, stood at 11.5 teraflops.
The main difference between the two is a better balance of performance per watt. Thus, the TDP of the video card Radeon R9 295 X2 is 500W, while the Radeon R9 Fury X2 will not exceed 375 watts. That is, the new card will be much more energy efficient, and a little more productive.
