Representatives of Mercedes-Benz say they are going to make greater use of manual labor in their car assembly plants in Germany, paying less attention to the use of robots.
The side may remain more cumbersome robots that are poorly adjusted to the manifold of the vehicle, produced on an assembly line. It is no secret that the German manufacturers of luxury car models from among the Big Three are ready to equip every vehicle with individual options at the discretion of the customer, and in this flexibility of production man is more profitable than robots. On re-assembly line for the launch of the new model, as explained representatives of Mercedes-Benz, the company spends one weekend, while on the line with a higher degree of automation would have to spend a few weeks.
Now Mercedes-Benz is trying to regain the market position of competitors by expanding the range of the proposed models and complete sets. High production flexibility while making profitable use of the manual labor of highly qualified specialists. By the end of the decade the brand plans to launch at least 30 new models.
