It is known that the processors series core 2 Quad on 45 nm core yorkfield will be based on C1 stepping . These processors will consume (in idle state) less power than their predecessors ( C0 stepping ) . Actually, the deliveries of core 2 Quad q9xxx processors were detained due to the transfer on new stepping C1. The deliveries of these processors must begin during March. Today appeared a mini- test of core 2 Quad q9450 (2.66 GHz)  processor C1 stepping . . With 1.168 v this processor was able to overclock up to the frequency 3.0 GHz. Not bad result for four core processor. Actually, much more expensive model core 2 Extreme QX9650 works at the same frequency. With 1.248 v it is possible to increase the frequency to 3.2 GHz. In this case the processor passed all tests and preserved stability. Final conclusions still early for C1 stepping  ... Related Products :

	Set your FSb to 375 and rise your vcore up to 1.35v . This will be enough for 3 Ghz

	Yes it should . Do u use SLI ? if yes then go with 790i if no then P45 witch has some strong FSB result (for Quad processors)

	How do i set my memory? I have ocz 800mhz 3-4-4-15 at 2.4volt if i overclock my cpu to 3ghz how i put my memory. Select auto, manual 4-4-4-15 at 2.2volt?

Nothing put in AUTO mode. People who are talking that they are getting 3.0 on stock they are wrong. The motherboard if it\'s set in Auto in CPU VCore is setting up the voltage when you are increasing FSB, also NB, FSB Termination Voltage. For my Q9450 with FSB=420, I got in BIOS : VCore = 1,325, NB = 1,35V, FSB Termination = AUTO, CPU PLL = 1,5V, SB = 1,05V, to reach FSB=425 (3.4GHz) I must put VCore higher, and seems to higher NB Voltage as well.

	LOLOLOL i get Q9450 @ 3.5GHz with no Vcore change. just set @ 1.2 (on GA-EX38-DS4 mobo) only problem i can\'t go higher because i have 800mhz DDR2 ramm(some cheap kingstons)

	around 3200-3400 with some after market good cooling. What kind of memory do u use ? id DDR 800 or above then . thne start increasing your FSB and testing the cpu each time using prime 95 , remember watch your temp . 	Got my chip upto 3.0Ghz without a voltage change. Managed to get it to 3.5Ghz at 1.256V, not willing to put my voltage above 1.3V so cannot get even 3.55Ghz. Stable on Prime95 with core temps below 60*C.
