Analyst CLSA Securities confirmed earlier rumors emerged that Intel will make LTE-modems for the next-generation iPhone. IPhone Release 7.
According to the analyst, Intel company will deliver significant part LTE-chips for the iPhone 7. It accounts will have 30 to 40 percent of order. The remaining part will get the chip maker Qualcomm.
It is noted that despite the fact that Apple is now seeking to reduce its reliance on Qualcomm's, it is not going to completely refuse to cooperate with the chip maker. Qualcomm is the exclusive supplier of LTE-modems for mobile Apple devices for more than three years.
In October last year it was announced that Intel, wanting to get Apple's order to release LTE-chip, formed a team of more than 1,000 of its employees. They work on the preparation of the latest Intel 7360, LTE modem for iPhone 7. It will be released on the base of an advanced 14-nanometer technology and will get LTE Cat.10 support that will provide high speed data downloads and web browsing.
