By the end of this year, AMD will introduce processors Summit Ridge Socket AM4 - This socket will not only provide DDR4 support for AMD desktop platforms, but also will use the same motherboards as the more expensive processors Summit Ridge, and hybrid processors Bristol Ridge.
The processors Socket AM4 get mOPGA packaging type 1331 terminal. This connector allows to make processors with TDP level of 140 watts, but it can be found and at a relatively affordable motherboards. The distance between the mounting holes for the CPU cooler staff in Socket AM4 is described by "54 x 90 mm." The CPU itself in the Socket AM4 in the overall dimensions do not exceed 40 x 40 mm, no different from its predecessors.
More affordable hybrid processors Raven Ridge will be limited to supporting dual channel memory types DDR4-2400, DDR4-2933 but support will be provided in the acceleration mode. Opteron server processors with Zen architecture will have the design concept LGA type.
