ARM has introduced the world the latest developments in the field of mobile processors: processing core Cortex-A73 and a graphics accelerator Mali-G71. These decisions will appear in the single-chip platform next generation, which will be installed in the flagship smartphones, and other devices in the next year.
New architecture uses ARMv8-A , and system-on-chip with Cortex-A73 will be made on 10-nm process technology. The default clock frequency is 2.8 GHz, and as claimed by ARM, the new performance 30% faster than the previous generation core Cortex-A72, and about the same power consumption. The core Cortex-A73 can be used both separately and as part of cluster configurations big.LITTLE, obviously as a big cluster. The area of a single core Cortex-A73, the produced by 10-nm process technology FinFET, is only 0.65 square millimeters
As for the GPU ARM Mali-G71, it is built on ARM Bifrost architecture and includes up to 32 shader cores, which is two times more than the current flagship GPU - Mali-T880. Compared with the current flagship, ARM Mali-G71 provides a performance boost of 40%, calculated per unit area of the crystal. Energy efficiency and throughput at the Mali-G71 increase by 20%.
The manufacturer notes that the Mali-G71 is able to provide the same performance as that of discrete graphics cards primary and secondary levels for notebooks from AMD and NVIDIA. Related Products :
