DATE:2016-09-15
AMD has managed to release server processors with Seattle eight core ARM Cortex-A57, but further plans for expansion in the server segment with the ARM architecture has preferred to subject "frozen". In fact now it remains in question the fate of their own K12 core server application that AMD developed by ARM license.
On the day before yesterday technology conference Mark Papermaster made it clear that the company has a license to produce ARM-making, but it is preferred to monitor the situation and to give priority to the development of x86-compatible solutions. At least when it comes to the segment of products for enterprises and server solutions. Here AMD's, according to its representatives, very, very strong roadmap with x86-compatible processors.
This statement is not entirely clear overlaps with one of the slides of the previous presentation for investors, where AMD quite clearly hints at the possibility of issuing an ARM-compatible "customized" solutions.
