We are almost accustomed to thinking that wearable devices that monitor physiological parameters of owner life , are used mainly by supporters of an active lifestyle, and athletes. However, in medical diagnostics such funds are used for a long time, although they could not boast compact dimensions until recently.
According to DigiTimes website, once a popular manufacturer Leadtek graphics card, which is now focused on the market of professional graphics solutions, is actively investing in the development of wearable medical devices. Already in the end of November, the corresponding products will be certified in Taiwan, and will be used in local hospitals. Negotiations are also underway with partners in China, USA and Japan.
While sales of professional graphics cards Leadtek form the bulk of the revenues and expenses for the development of medical devices, forcing the company to operate without a profit, but if the first contracts will justify itself, in the first quarter of 2017 the company could return to break-even. Leadtek also teamed up with Korean developers to launch a network game in Taiwan.
