TSMC Company  is used by AMD, NVIDIA and many other chipsets and video chip producers. TSMC company began passage on 40 nm technology - the first silicic plates will be processed already in the second quarter this year. Two forms of 40 nm technical process are developed: for devices with low energy consumption and for general purpose devices  . The first allow to create chips for mobile devices, and the second is used in the production of high speed microcircuits as processors, video chips and chipsets. With the same performance at the level of 45 nm , memory cells with passage on 40 nm will get  lower area size up to 0,242 sq. m.  40 nm microcircuits Production use immersion photolithography with wavelength 193 nm, and also materials with ultralow dielectric constant value (extreme low- k). In comparison with 65 nm technical process the density of  transistors arrangement was  increased by 2,35 times. Passage from 45 nm to 40 nm technology allow  to reduce the energy consumption  level by up to 15%. Thus, it can be assumed after 45 nm technical process ,AMD and NVIDIA will use the 40 nm technical process from TSMC. Related Products :
