Prior to the release of processors AMD Ryzen less than a month, and according to recent reports, Intel company is actively preparing for this event. According to our colleagues , Intel is currently working on a new processor that will be a response to Ryzen output .
It is reported that Intel is preparing to introduce a little overclocked version Core i7-7700K processor. New feature called Core i7-7740K and will work with a base frequency of 4.3 GHz, 100 MHz higher than the Core i7-7700K. Frequencies in Boost mode is not reported, but judging by other processors Kaby Lake, it will amount to 4.6 GHz. Also, the new processor will be characterized by a higher TDP value that is 100 watts or more, versus 91 watts from the Core i7-7700K.
In addition it is reported that Intel is preparing to release an overclocked version of the Core i5-7600K, which will be called Core i5 7640K. This processor is overclocked to 200 MHz, and its base frequency is 4.0 GHz. Interestingly, according to rumors the new Core i5 7640K receive support Hyper-Threading, which had not previously encountered in the line of Core i5 technology. Our colleagues, however, point out that the support of this new processor technology is not yet confirmed.
Of course, the availability of this technology in the Core i5 processors, contrary to common sense, because what's the point in Core i7 processors. Perhaps, Intel will do with Core i5, too, what have done recently with the Pentium processor: it has added support for Hyper-Threading, but disable some functions, such as the ability to decode AVX.
If at least some of the information provided above is true, then it means that Intel is really concerned about the performance level of AMD Ryzen processors. And it's a positive impact on consumers, because it will return to the market a healthy competition, and have a positive impact both on the CPU performance and on their price.
