CeBIT 2017 is designed to demonstrate novelties in the computer industry, attracted fewer visitors and participants.
German colleagues reported that next year CeBIT proposed to hold between 11 and 15 June. The timing, looks somewhat strange, taking into account the holding of Computex 2018 in Taiwan a week earlier. Obviously, the participants of both events will have to somehow distribute the exhibits and information occasions, and there is not much point in splitting them into two events so close in time.
Organizers recognize that CeBIT attracts fewer visitors and participants. Manufacturers of mobile electronics are trying to demonstrate new items at the February MWC event in Barcelona, the German stage of autumn revelations falls on the IFA, which takes place in early September in Berlin.
Note that the history of the PC market knows examples of "extinct events." For example, held in November in Las Vegas in the period from 1979 to 2003, Comdex gradually gave way to the January CES. German CeBIT has also been held since 1986, but recently has not attracted enough attention.
