Intel marketing materials literally shouted about the support of forty-four lines of PCI Express 3.0 by the ten-core processor Core i9-7900X, but after the documentation on these processors appeared on the company's website , we noticed a strange anomaly: everywhere there was support for no more than 40 lines PCI Express 3.0.
The documentation was prepared in such a hurry that the information about the characteristics of Broadwell-E processors was transferred to the description of Skylake-X processors capabilities without any particular changes - the list includes Core i7-6xxx series processors instead of Core i9-7xxx.
Information about the Skylake-X processors with the number of cores more than ten on the Intel site is not yet available. The official price list has not changed since April this year. But in the text of the document on the characteristics of processors Core i9 there is a mention of the physical dimensions of the processor package in the performance LGA 2066:
The processors in the FC-LGA package have dimensions of 52.5 x 45 mm. As we have already mentioned, the cooling systems from LGA 2011 are suitable for them without problems. Related Products :
