Not so long ago, Intel notified customers that it was stopping the delivery of platforms for the development of Galileo, Joule and Edison compact systems that were designed to strengthen the company's position in the segment of "homemade" robotic systems, the development of prototypes and the "internet of things" market.
Now, the resource Electronics Weekly reports that Intel experts, who worked on the "internet of things" line, also disagreed. At least the corporation has notified the bodies controlling employment and social issues that it is going to cut 97 specialists in sunny California and another 40 specialists in Ireland. I must say that the so-called IoT brought Intel last year $ 721 million in revenue, but it is a drop in the bucket for the budget of the processor giant, only 5% of total revenue. Such measures only strengthen the confidence of some sources that the company loses interest in the "Internet of things" segment.
