An interesting case for drives this week was found in local stores of a colleague from the Japanese website AKIBA PC Hotline . The Netstor product allows connecting several PCI Express 3.0 drives to Apple systems equipped with the Thunderbolt 3 interface.
The case with the overall dimensions of 371 x 110 x 200 mm is equipped with its own power supply unit with a power of 300 W, it allows to install two drives with a PCI Express x8 (3.0) connector and one drive with PCI Express x4 interface (3.0). The fourth PCI Express x16 slot is occupied by the service controller, which provides two Thunderbolt 3.0 ports with the ability to connect other devices in series.
The cooling of the case and the components installed in it is handled by a single fan with a size of 80 x 80 x 20 mm.
The case has a steel frame in which aluminum panels are fastened.
