45 nm technical process continues its expansion , and in the third quarter intel company expects to translate more than half of its up-to-date processors to the new technological standards. It is completely natural that old 65 nm processors in this case will be gradually removed from production.
Here is the graph of production reduction for some intel 65 nm processors during the present year. First , during July Intel will remove from production the model core 2 Extreme QX6800 (2.93 GHz) and Core 2 Extreme QX6850 (3.0 GHz), which have four cores with 2 X 4 mb cache in the second level, and support system bus frequency 1066 MHz and 1333 MHz .
The dual cores 65 nm processors series core 2 Duo 6x50 will be removed in the first quarter 2009. The same situation will be observed for core 2 Duo e4600 (2.4 GHz), and Core 2 Duo e4500 (2.2 GHz) .
Dual core processor Pentium e2140 (1.6 GHz) will be removed during June 2008.
The released on 45 nm technologies processors are a better overclocker with lower TDP ; therefore the removal of some 65 nm processors do not cause any problem . Related Products :
