Information about the combined plans of NVIDIA and VIA to present competitors for centrino platform ( atom ) on base of VIA processors and NVIDIA chipsets appeared during April. This integrated chipset had to propose directX 10 support and video decoding hardware acceleration ( blu-ray ) , but the cost of motherboard with VIA processor should not exceeded $45.

At the last current conference , NVIDIA chapter talked about the corresponding platform. Finished products will appear in spring of the following year. NVIDIA integrated chipset with VIA processor with cost approximately $20. This Platform will correspond to vista premium requirements , which will allow to create up to date budgetary solutions on its base.

It is pleasant that VIA and NVIDIA attempt to compose competition to intel in this new promising segment; however, atom processors will begin to conquer positions in the desktop sector already in this year.
