Last week associate reported that NVIDIA company intends to present the new chipset nForce 740i SLI for intel platforms (based on old chipset i650) , and also to slightly modernize the functional possibilities of chipset nForce 750i SLI. The chipset nForce 750i SLI will be made on C72 + MCP51, being the straight relative to nForce 780i SLI ( north bridge ) . So , instead of present PCI express x8 + PCI express x8 this chipset will be able to support classical SLI according to PCI express x16 + PCI express x16.
Under nForce 740i SLI will be hidden the good old nForce 650i SLI. SLI Support will be realized according to PCI express x8 + PCI express x8, but the corresponding system bus will be compatible only with PCI express 1.0 specifications . The support of processors with 1333 MHz system bus, dual-channel memory DDR 2-800, one gigabit network ports and eight ports USB 2.0 is ensured by both chipsets.
Motherboard on base of nForce 750i SLI will appear in the price range from $120, but motherboards on base of nForce 740i SLI will cost not less than $85.
