Present AMD dual core processors athlon X2 with TDP level not more than 45 W, are marked with the (e) suffix, They relate to the energetically effective processors. The phenom architecture proposes a TDP level not more than 95 W and for high-end four core models this value generally rises to 125 W.
During August this year AMD will present two economical Three-core processors models phenom X3. They will work at 1.9 GHz and 2.1 GHz frequencies , but TDP level will not exceed 65 W. Let us examine the fundamental characteristics of those processors :
- Phenom X3 8450e (2.1 GHz) - > three core, 3 X 512 KB cache in the second level, 2mb cache in the third level, system bus frequency 3200 MHz, TDP=65 W;
- Phenom X3 8250e (1.9 GHz) - > three core, 3 X 512 KB cache in the second level, 2mb cache in the third level, system bus frequency 3600 MHz, TDP=65 W.
Note that the faster model has a lower system bus frequency ( hyperTransport 3.0 ).
Note also : that Phenom X3 8250e (1.9 GHz) will be removed from production in the fourth quarter (Q4 2008), and the model phenom X3 8450e (2.1 GHz) will be removed in Q1 2009. Related Products :
