In October last year hitachi company declared, that its developments in the sphere of gigantic magneto-resistance will allow to increase the hard drives volume ( 3.5 ) to 4 Tb up to 2009-2010. Associate with the reference to Hitachi representatives reported that this week this company was ready to subjugate the 1 terabit already on 2010. This will allow to create hard drives with volume 5 Tb (5000 Gb or 5120 Gb, precisely). According to hitachi representatives , two hard drives with 5TB volume can contain as much information as human brain. In any case increase in the writing density allow to reduce the prime cost of hard drives. The cost of one giga-byte storage in this case will be systematically reduced. |
