Qmonda company , in spring last year , expressed its relation to the development of graphic memory:  As change to GDDR-3 it was proposed to immediately present GDDR-5, since GDDR-4 memory did not justify the decrease in the energy consumption level . Qimonda Representatives made several interesting statements : First , Qimonda considers GDDR-5 as the promising standard, which will be used for not less than five years. High capacity GDDR-5 ensures higher productivity in comparison with GDDR-3 - increase reaches 40%, according to the estimations Of qimonda.  GDDR-5 Microcircuits can be produced with the use of  four-layer design, whereas GDDR-3 required six-layer design. Of course this reduces the prime cost  . In the energy consumption plan  GDDR-5 win over GDDR-3 by about 30%. To autumn Qimonda engineers will reduce the working GDDR-5  voltage from 1.2 to 1.0 v which also favorably will affect the energy efficiency . The density of  GDDR-5 microcircuits will  also allow to create video cards with large memory capacity. Qimonda actively increases the GDDR5 memory production volumes . . ........
