Seagate company already expressed its ambiguous relation to solid-state hard drives. From one side, Seagate does not see large prospects for expanding the market share with such disk type . From the other side, SSD can engage up to 7% of market, and Seagate wants to be present in this sector. In this case the company management have to actively improve solid-state disks . In this case seagate and Micron companies will be occupied by the development of solid-state memory. Seagate is the most important producer of HDD, Micron occupies a leading positions on the memory market . This organization will develop electrical specifications and form factors, interfaces and requirement for the SSD reliability . Interaction with other technical committees and certification organs will be fixed.
