Toshiba company is intended to release a mobile devices, whose battery is built-in on fuel cells with direct methanol transformation (DMFC), prior to the end of the financial year.
Toshiba already showed the corresponding prototypes, but the specific release periods of commercial products were not called.
In the upper photograph is shown the cell phone , shown on CEATEC exhibition : Toshiba W55T.
The power system includes lithiumionic battery, which is recharged from the fuel cell.
The cartridge, shown in the photograph above, contains 50 ml methanol : 99,5% concentration. This quantity is sufficient for the complete battery charging , approximately 10 times. In the initial stage the cartridges will cost several dollars, but with time toshiba plans to decrease it to the level, which does not exceed one dollar. Related Products :
