Asus compagny presented a new EEe PC model : Asus s101, with the thickness not more than 25 mm and approximately 1 kg mass; this is one of the thinnest notebooks on base of intel atom processor .  This notebook is pretty similar to Eee PC 1000H (1,5 kg) in its caracteristics . It is supplied with 80 Gb hard disk, whereas Eee PC s101 is satisfied by solid-state disc with volume from 16 Gb to 64 Gb. If we forget about the small mass and thickness, this new notebook do not include any special characteristics. The single core processor intel atom n270 (1.6 GHz) is coupled with the chipset intel 945GME and one giga-byte memory. The 10.2 incehs screen has also a 0,3 MP Web- camera . One battery charge must be sufficient for five hours of off-line operation. Asus s101 include a adapter wiFi 802.11a/b/g/n, and bluetooth, or usual network port on 100 Mbit/s. Three ports USB 2.0, card reader 4- in -1 and D -Sub port. Overall dimensions are equal to 264 X 180,5 X 25 mm, mass does not exceed 1 kg. The low-end Asus eee PC s101 version with 16 Gb solid-state disc and the operating systems Windows XP costs $699, the Linux version will be proposed for the same amount but with 32 Gb disk space.
