AMD company promised to describe its answer to Atom in November (analysts conference) , which past yesterday. As temporary alternative ,AMD attempted to propose the economical one- and dual core processors athlon with K8 architecture , notebook on their base possess a developed functionality and lower price than Intel atom alternative.
This week AMD reported about a new processors, specially developed for notebooks. AMD as before do not relates to notebook with screen not more than 10 inches, and it proposes to create a advanced in the functional sense light notebook with large sufficiently screens. The TDP of processor and integrated chipset for this platform will not exceed 25 W.
In the beginning of 2009 AMD will propose two platforms for notebooks, which will succeed in competing with Intel atom solutions. The dual core 65 nm processors conesus will become a part of congo platform , which will be supplemented in the integrated chipset RS780M. The single core 65 nm huron processors will enter in the composition of yukon platform simultaneously with the integrated chipset RS690E.
Both processors will support DDR-2 memory , and the design concept BGA will allow those processors to be compact in form without special problems. The announcement Of congo is planned for the second-half 2009, the single core yukon platform will be released in the first half-year.
In 2010 AMD will release the dual core 45 nm processors geneva, which will become part of nile platform . They will obtain 2 mb cache in the second level and supports DDR3 memory , whereas 65 nm conesus processors will be satisfied by 1 mb cache and DDR-2 memory support . Related Products :
