Information about certain measures from Intel witch limit the chipset series i945x compatability with processors Core 2 duo E6xxx, which support 1066 MHz bus, was already published by Chinese site. Later in the network began the references about the mysterious chipset i945GC, and only today was published further information about this system logic collection.
As it is explained, in the beginning of 2007 chipset i945GC will become the basis for budget solutions, which ensure the support of processors Pentium Exxxx (Conroe- L) with 800 MHz system bus. Formally it will not support the 1066 MHz bus. Finally, for the processors with 1066 MHz bus there are chipset of series x965, and for the processors with 1333 MHz bus in the second quarter of 2007 will show up chipset series Bearlake.
Chipset i945GC will have an integrated graphic core of class GMA 950. it will preserve support the interface PCI Express x16. as far as support to memory, is concerned, here the possibilities of chipset i945GC will be somehow very limited: it will support only one slot DIMM for each of two channels, that will limit the total volume supported by chipset to two giga-byte. Support to dual-channel memory Ddr2-400/533/667 will be preserved.
For chipset i945GC there is another mission: Intel recommended to its motherboards producers the replacement of chipset ATI RC410 and RC610. the latter will show up in the first half of 2007, but the prospects for the decrease in the volumes of chipsetov ATI production for platform Intel will make for sure motherboards to search for adequate replacement.
