The first AMD socket AM3 processors will appear in February, but elder model phenom II X4 945 (3.0 GHz) will generally appear during April 2009. These processors will work with socket AM2+ or Socket AM2 motherboards after Bios update, but in this case they can only use DDR-2 memory  . However, the advantage of socket AM3 consists in DDR3 memory . Socket AM3 processors models already begin to be extended in small circles. 	ECS A790GXM-AD3. Is that a SOCKET AM2+ OR AM3 ???? It has nearly same model number as the AM2+ MODEL = ECS A790GXM-A Newsroom article does not specify socket.
