References about NVIDIA chipset nForce 980a SLI for socket AM3 platforms already appeared during January . Today we can affirmed the essence of this chipset .
NVIDIA was absorbed in by the re-branding of its old products,and under nForce 980a SLI from March this year will be sold already the known to us chipset nForce 780a SLI. The chipset Marking will be replaced from NF780A-SLI- N -A2 to NF980A-SLI-A2. The basic difference between this chipset and its predecessor is the support of socket AM3 processors. Since the support of DDR3 memory is realized by the built-in processor controller , nothing depends from the chipset in this sense. Consequently, change of chipset names from nForce 780a SLI to nForce 980a SLI pursues the exceptionally marketing purposes - to create the effect of new product. | ||
