Lenovo company plan to break Intel recommendations with respect to the atom notebook display size. This Chinese company will release the model ideaPad s20, equipped with 12- inches screen. This notebook will use the processor Intel atom n280 and GN40 chipset. As is known, Intel limits the maximum screen size of such devices to 10 inches.
After breaking this limitation, Lenovo will lose the possibility to acquire N280 on the special decreased price. The Chinese producer will pay approximately $10 more than important customers. The retail price of ideaPad s20 notebook, with Windows XP will be approximately $586. Lenovo Competitors will also propose products on base of atom n280 processor: Notebook asus eee PC 1004DN on the Taiwan market will cost $379, and the acer notebook $498. It is important to note that Intel atom n280 + GN40 has a high energy consumption; therefore, this increase the requirement for adequate battery capacity. | ||
