During January appeared the first references about the processor phenom II X4 950 (3.1 GHz), which had to appear in first half of the following block. It was considered that it will remain the elder model phenom THE II X4 for the next months.
Yesterday associate reported , that AMD plans about the announcement of phenom II processors were changed. First , in the middle of April AMD will announce the processor phenom II X4 955 (3.2 GHz) with the TDP level not more than 125 W( socket AM3 ). Accordingly, the processor phenom II X4 950 (3.1 GHz) will not be represented.
In the second place, associate reported some information about the characteristics of dual core processors callisto socket AM3, they will include a complete six MB cache in the third level :
- Phenom II X2 550 (3.1 GHz) - > Socket AM3, 2 x 512 KB cache in the second level, 6 MB cache in the third level, TDP = 85 W;
- Phenom II X2 545 (3.0 GHz) - > Socket AM3, 2 x 512 KB cache in the second level, 6 MB cache in the third level, TDP = 85 W.
The announcement of those processors is planned for the middle of May. Since callisto processors are obtained from four cores CPU after turning off two cores, theoretically they could become a good material for transformations :-) . Related Products :
