According to associate, on Monday AMD and Seagate companies demonstrated the new generation SATA interface, which ensures the data transmission speed of up to 6 Gigabits (about 600 MB per second).
The new version has twice larger capacity in comparison with the previous, the updated interface also contains several improved characteristics, which was missing in the past generation devices , which support the technology NCQ (Native command queuing).
Furthermore, due to the new power control systems, this interface allow to switch on/off power per port.
Seagate company also reported that new 6 GB interface SATA3 will be used by SSD.
It is expected that the first devices, which support SATA3 interface will appear at the end of present year.
