We already reported about the protection system in notebooks developed by Intel in the collaboration with other producers . A GPS- sensor tracks the position of stolen or lost notebook, and the wireless modem allows to block the access to the stored on hard disk information.
Fujitsu siemens computers company yesterday declared about the intentions to begin during April present year the sale of two notebook models with a similar protection system. The mobile computers LIFEBOOK t5010 and LIFEBOOK e8420 with support to Intel anti-Theft technology . The proposed program allows specialists to track the position of notebook and if necessary to remotely start the process of data algorithm removal , which exceeds on its effectiveness the requirement of military standards NATO. It is possible to remove all data on hard disk together with the operating system, it is possible to preserve an operating system, and to also remove only a concrete folder or types of files . These protection functions are placed secretly in the operating system ( program- agent ), that sends necessary data to the control center with Internet connection . The reserve copy of this program is stored in the notebook Bios ; therefore, in case of replacing hard disks or its formatting it is restored. This system does not work in the case of the lack of network access , but developers prepare to improve protection, also in this direction. Fujitsu siemens computers company is one of the two producers in the EMEA region , which connected the absolute technologies and Intel in its current model notebook number . The protection system for fujitsu siemens computers notebook will be incorporated in the model LIFEBOOK t5010 and LIFEBOOK e8420, and it will appear on sale during April 2009. | ||
