Today appeared some data from jon peddie research analytical agency about the market for discrete graphic cards in the fourth quarter last year . In all for the block were dispatched 15,2 ml video cards, which are less by 42,7% than a year earlier. Gain from the realization of this video card quantity composed $2,5 billion, which up to 43,8% lower than in the fourth quarter 2007. The selling-price of video cards hardly reached $165, and it demonstrates tendency to a decrease.  It is interesting that the portion of solutions with the integrated core remained almost as before: 40,6% against 40,2% in the past year. Consequently, integrated chipset did not take from discrete video cards any noticeable market share. The reason for drop in the sales volumes of discrete video cards, in the opinion of jon peddie research experts, lies in the tendency of participants in the commercial chain to throw out the existing reserves, which cannot be claimed under the conditions of economic crisis.
