In 2007 OCZ technology company proposed the utility SPD- Z, which allows to preserve and to exchange with other users optimum SPD setting for memory modules from similar producer.
EVGA Company recently presented the utility : SPD utility. Its functional possibilities are close to SPD- Z, but this EVGA product can be used only with x58 classified motherboards. Furthermore, for the protection of memory modules all loaded on SPD profiles data do not load in the appropriate memory module chip, but in the microcircuit backup ROM on the motherboard .
