Recently, Intel representatives clearly noted that the mobile sector within the next few years must become the largest market segment . It includes all products from full-scale notebooks to cell phones. All Intel attempts to open the segment of most compact mobile devices did not obtain a special success until now. Intel proposed UMPC and MID classes devices, which cannot be compared with notebook on the popularity. Many experts have the opinion, that Intel was unable to create x86- compatible architecture processors , which possess a sufficient efficiency for application in pocket devices.
Yesterday Intel and Nokia companies in the joint press release reported about the creation of strategic alliance, within it they will exchange technologies and together develop chips for mobile devices. Intel can propose Nokia its experience in the creation of productive processors, and Nokia is ready to share its operating times in the tele-communications sphere. Intel already obtained licenses to the modem Of nokia standard HSPA/3G, which will allow to build future products.
We can assume that future Intel platforms for notebook and MID- devices will acquire the support of 3G networks. The basic increase in notebook sales is observed precisely in those regions, where they are proposed from connection operators in special contracts . Intel and Nokia will also collaborate in the development sphere of software with the open code on linux platforms . Related Products :
