IBM Company already develop , liquid cooling systems in servers solutions. One of the supers-computer created by IBM already acquired a water cooling system. To increase the effectiveness of thermal solutions IBM is assembled to introduce the direct washing of processors by waters.
Currently up to half of entire electric power consumed by server rooms is expended on cooling equipment . As reports assocaite, built WITH IBM for one of the Swiss institutes the super-computer aquasar will reduce the expenditures of electric power to about 40%.
The water-blocks of this super-computer, cooling processors IBM powerXCell 8i and Intel nehalem, have special construction. Water washes directly the cover of processor heat-distributer through the microchannels system , which excludes the need of using thermal-paste. The temperature of water is equal to 60 degree Celsius (in), and it rises to 65 degree Celsius (out). The capacity of cooling system is equal to 10 liters, water is pumped through by pumps with has the speed of 30 liters per minute. Related Products :
